So there is a new series out on Fox called New Amsterdam. There have only been two episodes so far, but I have really enjoyed what I've seen.
Here is the basic premise of the show: the main character (I think his name is John Amsterdam) was born in the 1600's and was a pilgram in New England. During a battle with the Indians (Native Americans is more correct, sorry), he saves a group of Indian women from being killed by his Pilgram friend. This "friend" in turn, stabs John (I wish I had such good friends :) ), and John dies. However, the Indian women work their "magic" and bring him back to life with one catch - he will never age or die. Well, at least not until he meets the one. They sense that there is just one woman throughout all time that he is meant to be with. When he meets and marries her, then he will begin to grow old, and will be able to die. So John is now a homicide detective in New York City, still looking for the one. He often has flashbacks, remembering friends he had or events that he attended over the last 400 years.
I think the whole idea for this show is neat - very different from everything else currently on t.v. There are basically 3 types of shows on in the evening - CSI types (which I LOVE, don't get me wrong!), reality types, and game-show types. This doesn't really fit any of those - I think its pretty original. Anyway - if you have the chance, you should check it out
So now that you think I spend all of my time in front of the television.........I'll turn off the computer and go watch my favorite shows!

This sounds very interesting. Just the kind of show David and I would watch. I will check it out.Right now we are in love with "Jericho." Have you seen it? If not you should! I think it would be the kinda show you would like from what I can tell.
