I have been trying to potty train Janae for several months now. We work at it for a few days, get frustrated, take a couple weeks off, then start all over again. It has been really frustrating for me, because a few weeks back, she actually went a couple of days without accidents, then just decided that she was done using the toilet. She went back to having accidents and not caring. AAGGHH! So we took a few weeks off, and are now trying again. This morning she used the toilet and was so proud of herself. She said, "Mommy, take a picture of me and my dolly and horsey!!" So of course I did.

Here is my current bribe technique...
When she successfully uses the toilet, she gets to pick out one part of a Polly Pocket set I bought. There are lots of pieces of it for her to choose from (dolls, horses, clothes, hats, etc.). However, if she has an accident, she has to give back ALL of the things she has earned, and start over again. It seems really harsh - but I think it is actually working! So in the picture she is showing off the doll and the horse she has earned.
Hopefully potty training will stick this time! I would love to have a couple of diaperless months before the baby comes.

Her hair is so long!
I think that what you're doing might actually work. Especially if she knows she'll get the things back. If you took only one thing back she'd still have the others and probably wouldn't care so much so good thinking! ...I think ;)
I'm going to go back and double click on that top baby quilt, etc. photo. It looks beautiful! I still have to read the rest of your blog about your house too.
